The TransLatin@ Coalition Releases Groundbreaking Study on Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex (TGI) Adults in Los Angeles

Los Angeles, CA – The TransLatin@ Coalition is thrilled to announce the release of the comprehensive study, "From Surviving to Thriving: A Quality of Life Study with Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex (TGI) Adults in the City of Los Angeles." This groundbreaking research was a collaborative effort between The TransLatin@ Coalition and the prestigious Williams Institute at UCLA Los Angeles.

The study was authored by a dedicated team of experts and advocates, including Principal Investigators Miguel Fuentes, Ph.D, Bamby Salcedo, M.A., Queen Victoria Ortega, and Kerith Conron, Sc.D. Their combined knowledge and dedication have created an essential resource for understanding the experiences and needs of TGI individuals in the City of Angels.

The study's qualitative findings have provided valuable insights and recommendations in critical areas affecting TGI adults, including:

  1. Employment and Resources.

  2. Housing.

  3. Health Care.

  4. Public Safety.

These recommendations are a vital step toward addressing the unique challenges faced by the TGI community and ensuring that they have the support and resources necessary to lead fulfilling lives.
