We’re celebrating a powerful victory! AB 1487 has passed the Assembly Health Committee, bringing us one step closer to a more just and inclusive future for our Two-Spirit, Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex (2TGI) communities.

President Donald Trump signed an executive order targeting gender-affirming care for youth, and because of this, some California clinics have lost vital federal funding to aid people under the age of 19 to assist with gender-affirming care programs.

The TransLatin@ Coalition fiercely condemns President Trump’s latest executive orders—ruthless attacks on gender-affirming care, the freezing of federal funding, and other policies designed to harm our community.

California’s largest LGBTQ+ rights organizations, including the Translatin@ Coalition, are urging Governor Gavin Newsom and state legislators to step up and protect the community from the potential threats of a second Trump presidency. In a letter sent today, these groups are calling for stronger legal protections, increased funding to address discrimination in public schools, and the creation of a fund to help individuals from hostile states relocate to California.
