On April 29, 2025, we witnessed a powerful moment in our ongoing fight for justice, dignity, and safety for incarcerated transgender people in California. The Senate Public Safety Committee made it clear that our lives and rights matter — voting down SB 311 (Grove), a harmful and discriminatory bill, and advancing SB 337 (Menjivar), a measure that prioritizes protection and accountability within California’s prison system.

We’re celebrating a powerful victory! AB 1487 has passed the Assembly Health Committee, bringing us one step closer to a more just and inclusive future for our Two-Spirit, Transgender, Gender Nonconforming, and Intersex (2TGI) communities.

Our organization and Linda’s family demand a thorough and transparent investigation and accountability process looking into the circumstances surrounding Linda’s death. This is a critical step toward ensuring justice for Linda and her family.
