The TransLatin@ Coalition Celebrates the 11th Annual GARRAS Fashion Show in West Hollywood

A Night Where Fashion, Art, and Activism Collide to Celebrate Transgender and Gender Expansive Communities

Los Angeles, CA – October 6, 2025The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC), the largest trans-led organization in the United States founded by Latina immigrants, will host its 11th Annual GARRAS (Groundbreaking Activism Redirecting & Reforming All Systems) Fashion Show on Saturday, November 15, 2025, at 8:00 PM at the Pacific Design Center in West Hollywood.

GARRAS is more than a runway—it’s a cultural movement that highlights the talent, resilience, and creativity of two-spirit, transgender, gender expansive, and intersex (2TGI) individuals. Each year, the show provides a platform for 2TGI designers, models, and artists to showcase their work, while raising funds to support TLC’s critical programs, including housing services, drop-in centers, and violence prevention initiatives.

Last year’s show was a record-breaking success, drawing over 700 attendees and raising nearly $300,000. Special guests included Zaya Wade and TS Madison, Gia Gunn, Shakina, Alexandra Grey, and Courtney Revolution to name a few.

2025 Highlights Include:

  • Spotlighting 2TGI Designers: Featured designers have been carefully selected to showcase their work on the GARRAS runway, providing a much-needed platform to highlight the creativity, innovation, and cultural influences of 2TGI artists. The designers’ collections reflect diverse perspectives and challenge conventional fashion norms, celebrating authenticity and self-expression.

  • Scholarships for the Future: TLC will award two $5,000 vocational scholarships to 2TGI individuals in support of their academic and professional development. This initiative underscores the organization’s commitment to creating equitable opportunities and fostering success within the creative industries.

  • Community Celebration: The event unites allies, advocates, and supporters to honor 2TGI voices and their contributions to art, culture, and society.

Bamby Salcedo, TLC President & CEO, shared, “The GARRAS Fashion Show is a significant event to the TGI community because it contrasts Transgender Day of Remembrance. It's a day that celebrates and uplifts the lives of TGI people who are still here. Particularly in these political times, we must celebrate our community showcasing our lives because our existence is resistance!”

Interviews are available prior to the event and on-site at the red carpet. Media can arrange interviews with Bamby Salcedo, TLC Vice President & COO Maria Roman-Taylor, or participating designers.

ABOUT THE TRANSLATIN@ COALITION

Founded in 2009, The TransLatin@ Coalition (TLC) began as a grassroots movement led by Two Spirit, Transgender, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (2TGI) immigrant women in Los Angeles, California. Created to address the urgent and unique needs of 2TGI Latin@ immigrants in the United States, TLC has grown into a nationally recognized organization with representation in 10 states. With funding from state and local governments, as well as private foundations, TLC continues to expand its services throughout Los Angeles County. In addition to advocating for systemic change, the organization provides direct services to 2TGI individuals in Los Angeles through its Center for Violence Prevention and Transgender Wellness, established in 2015. TLC’s primary mission is to break down barriers to essential services and ensure that all 2TGI individuals have access to the comprehensive resources they need to thrive.
