New research from the Williams Institute at UCLA School of Law, in partnership with the TransLatin@ Coalition, finds that about three-quarters (73%) of immigrant respondents to the LA County Trans & Nonbinary Survey—including 80% of trans Latina immigrants—live at or below the federal poverty level, compared to 44% of non-immigrant respondents.

The TransLatin@ Coalition held its inaugural Walk4Humanity to raise funding that the president has cut during his ongoing anti-trans crusade. The result was a community triumph.

On Sunday, August 24, 2025, Sunset Junction became the epicenter of resilience and unity as hundreds joined Walk4Humanity, a mobilization of love, power, and justice for Trans, Gender Expansive, and Intersex (TGI) individuals—especially Black, Brown, and immigrant communities.
