We mourn the tragic loss of Nex Benedict, a beloved member of our community whose life was cut short by a senseless act of violence in their school bathroom. This devastating incident underscores the urgent need for action to protect and uplift transgender, gender nonbinary, and intersex (TGI) individuals.

As we celebrate the journey of our remarkable organization, it's crucial to reflect on its early beginnings and the profound impact it has had on the lives of transgender, gender nonconforming, and intersex (TGI) Latinx individuals. This year, we are celebrating a year-long campaign showcasing the milestones we have achieved so far; this is the first of three phases.

On February 13, advocates, community leaders, and allies joined forces at the Kenneth Hall of Administration in Los Angeles for the impactful Show Us Love Rally aimed to raise awareness about the disparities faced by transgender individuals and push for tangible action from the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors.

Frida's narrative is one of profound courage and tenacity, from the treacherous corners of Mexico to the welcoming arms of a supportive community. The challenges she encountered on her journey were formidable, but through the unwavering assistance of The TransLatin@ Coalition, Frida not only found support but also discovered her strength.
